Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story

Shipwrecked Comedy has released the first episode of their latest historical comedy.

Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story is a modern day take on the classic story by Washington Irving. But it looks like Shipwrecked added in a few fun twists to this typically spooky tale.

Ichabod Crane arrives in Sleepy Hollow as the new middle school science teacher. We are immediately met with a slew of…interesting, characters, to say the least. Diedrich Knickerbocker, the town bard and our musical narrator, welcomes Ichabod into town and directs him to The Old Dutch House. Here Ichabod is met by Douffe Martling, his ever-gracious new landlord. Upon landing him with a few unexpected expenses, she suggests Ichabod find himself a roommate.

Now, I won’t dive too much further into the story just yet. Don’t want to spoil anything, do we? What I will say is that I am already completely hooked on this series. Sean and Sinead Persaud are incredibly talented writers. They really have a gift for taking this well known, historical figures (whether fictional like the characters in Headless, or the various famous authors we met in Edgar Allen Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party) and turning them into these relatable and, frankly, hilarious characters. Ichabod, Kat, Matilda, and all the rest of the residents of Sleepy Hollow really feel like people I may come across in my own life. Well, maybe minus the witchcraft. But, who knows.

The Persaud Siblings, along with the entire Shipwrecked Comedy team, have once again brought us a fantastic series. Visually stunning, quirky characters and goofy quips, Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story is a must-watch in the nerd’s opinion. And that twist ending? Need I say more? I am so excited to see where this story heads! (Pun absolutely intended.)
